Hug it out at the 1st annual Treehugger 5K encouraging healthy lifestyles and a healthy environment. This fast, fun and green event provides a great opportunity for you and your family to enjoy our earth’s natural environment.
Support our environmental education mission, enjoy the beautiful Caves Valley region and spread a little environmental love this Earth Day! All proceeds benefit Irvine Nature Center.
Race Course
The Treehugger 5K takes you through Irvine’s 116 acres of trails. The fun and challenging race begins just past our forest and into the meadows, and features some of Irvine’s most beautiful trails. The course includes steep hills, wetland views and a variety of terrain.
The family-friendly 1K makes a loop through Irvine’s amazing meadows, and finishes with kid-friendly relay races and other green games.
The Treehugger 5K will be completely cup free, thanks to our friends at HydraPouch. Please be sure to bring your own water container, or to prepare yourself with a special Treehugger 5K pouch. There will be multiple water stations along the course.
Race Day Registration
There will be race day registration. Participants will need to arrive at 8:30 to get registered for the event. CASH OR CHECK ONLY (checks made out to Irvine Nature Center).
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup will be at 8:30am on race morning.

The Irvine Nature Center is located at 11201 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
Competitors
Ages 10 through 100 can compete in this event.
Awards
Awards will be handed out after the race to the top male and female finishers. Other random awards will be handed out.
