As an Officer and Captain in the Swedish Army, Daniel Karlsson is used to physical fitness. It is no surprise that he shattered our Prince William Forest Park 5k course by 64 seconds (5k Records). His interest in team sports as a kid turned him towards running. This interest has culminated into him being a Swedish 800m age group champion as well as earning him a spot on the military pentathlon national team. Between his four deployments overseas, he has won a bronze medal in the obstacle course relay at the Military World Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2011 and 8 Swedish championships in the military pentathlon. Daniel hopes to compete in the Boston, New York, or Berkeley Marathons someday. He views running as a way to explore new places and venues and as a kind of therapy
for during/after his deployments.
