Our 2023 August Runner Spotlight is on Leah Miller, who is in the US Navy. Hear about her story below:
Q: When did you start running? Why did you start running?
A: 2014. I thought I better start training if I was going to participate in an obstacle course race for the first time!
Q: How many events a year do you typically do?
A: As many as my schedule allows while also considering which courses are being offered on any particular day.
Q: Most embarrassing running experience? or biggest accomplishment?
A: Biggest accomplishment would be running 3 gentle rolling hills races in 3 days all under my goal time for that type of course! Didn’t think I had it in me to do that!
Q: Something we should know about you?
A: Well this was a tough one to choose from but I’ll go with: while I’m not much of an adrenaline junkie, it is on my bucket list to go great white shark cage diving 🙂
Q: If you could run any race, what would it be?
A: Any race in each state 🙂
Q: What keeps you coming back for more of our events?
A: The Bishop staff/volunteers and all the other awesome runners! Also I have a goal to complete a race on each course Bishop’s has to offer!
Q: How has running changed your life?
A: It has definitely made me stronger physically and mentally which has had positive impacts on other areas of my life outside of running!
Q: Favorite post run food?
A: I haven’t established one (although I may have discovered what will be my favorite), but my favorite post run drink is chocolate milk 🙂
Q: Favorite race/course?
A: My favorite race would have to be the 2022 Super Secret 5K
Q: Favorite parts of an event or things you look forward to at one of our events?
A: I really do like the medals and post race refreshments! 😀 Also I look forward to finishing the races because there is always a good cheering squad at the end! 🙂
