Please join this neighborhood family and pet-friendly event on Thanksgiving Day. We will host two races: a 5K, and a 3K ‘Fun Run’ for our younger participants and families. The races will be held on the beautiful trails at the SYA Sports Park. The event will be held rain or shine.

Walkers and strollers are welcome to attend this event.

Charity Information

Funds from the race will go towards the Virginia Valor FC, SYA and CYA Financial Aid Fund and Fields Fund.

 

Race Start Times

3k – 8:30am

5k – 9:30am

 

Registration Fees

Adult 3k or 5k – $40, until Nov 1 ($45)

Youth 3k or 5k – $35, until Nov 1 ($40)

Long sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to runners that register before Nov 15th.  We will order extra t-shirts for those who register after that date, but it is on a first-come first-served basis.

Live Race Results

Live results will be posted on Athlinks.com.  Additionally, there will be a QR code at the race for you to scan to immediately view your results.  Final race results with series points will be posted to our website on the Monday following your race.

 

Awards

We will not have any awards for the top finishers of the races.

 

Photos

We will post any photos taken by staff on our Facebook page by Tuesday after the event.

On Tuesdays, we pick our favorite Instagram or Facebook post from the previous race weekend.  The winner will receive 50% off a future race!  Make sure to tag us in your race photos at:

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is available from 10am to 6pm at the CYA Fieldhouse at 14810 Murdock St, Chantilly, VA 20151 on Wednesday. We recommend arriving 30min before your event start time.

 

Race Day Registration

There will be race day registration. Participants will need to arrive around 45 minutes before the race to get registered for the event. T-shirts sizes can not be guaranteed for race day registers.

 

Water Stations

There will be 1 water station along the 5k course at approximately mile marker 2.  Water stations are subject to change as deemed necessary.

 

Restrooms

Portajohns can be located in the Sports Park.

 

Weather Policy

Weekly weather reports are posted on the Thursday before race weekends on our Facebook page by Chad Merrill with the Hagerstown Almanack.  Race officials may delay, change or postpone the event due to weather conditions.  All registered runners will be notified via email of any changes.  In most cases, a decision is not made until the night before the race, and a decision could come as late as the morning of the event.
