Charity Information

All proceeds support the Deltaville Community Association in its mission to enhance the quality of life for citizens and guests by providing recreational community assets and activities.

 

Race Start Times

Kids Fun Run – 7:15am

5k – 7:30 am

 

Registration Fees

5k – $35, until July 1 ($40)

Kids Fun Run – $25, until July 1 ($30)

The 5K does not have any age restrictions. The Kids Fun Run is open to participants 12 and under.

***Price will increase on race morning by $5 for each distance

T-shirts guaranteed to runners registered before June 15.  We will order extra t-shirts for those who register after that date, but it is on a first-come first-served basis.

Start/Finish at DCA Building, 17147 General Puller Highway, Deltaville, VA 23043

Kids Fun Run (1/2 mile) (7:15 am)

Kids Fun Run will start across from the Deltaville Community Center building; West on Route 33 to turnaround, loop back to finish in gateway across from the Deltaville Community Center building.

5K Run (3.1 miles) (7:30 am) 

5K Run will start across from the Deltaville Community Center; West on Route 33 to turnaround across from West Marine; Eastbound PASSING THROUGH GATEWAY to right onto Rt 1101 (Lover’s Lane); Follow Rt 1101 to end and onto State Dock to turnaround and backtrack Rt 1101 to Route 33; turn right eastbound onto Route 33 to turnaround in approx. 0.1 mile; loop back on Route 33 west to finish in gateway across from the Deltaville Community Center building.

 

Live Race Results

Live results will be posted on Athlinks.com.  Additionally, there will be a QR code at the race for you to scan to immediately view your results.  Final race results with series points will be posted to our website on the Monday following your race.

Runner tracking is now available when you sign up for a race with Bishop’s Events. Click on the green SMS button (see example below) at the end of your registration and have your race updates sent to your mobile device as well as those of your friends & family so they can track your race progress.

 

Awards

Male & female age competition categories are as follows: < 9, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24 then five-year increments until 85+.

 

Photos

We will post any photos taken by staff on our Facebook page by Tuesday after the event.

Race Day Registration

There will be race day registration. Participants will need to arrive approximately one hour before the race to register for the event. T-shirts sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registers.

 

Water Stations

Two water stations will be provided along the route for the 5k.

 

Restrooms

Portajohns will be adjacent to the check-in building.

 

Volunteers

Volunteers should arrive approximately 60 minutes before the first race kicks off.  We will assign volunteer tasks on race morning (water station, course marshals, finish line support, etc).  You can find parking information under “Directions to Parking” with a latitude and longitude pin for where to meet.

 

Weather Policy

We are an all-weather race company (rain or shine or sleet or snow). We will email registered runners and post on social media if the race is cancelled, but this is quite rare, otherwise assume the race is taking place as scheduled.

Weekly weather reports are posted on the Thursday before race weekends on our Facebook page by Chad Merrill with the Hagerstown Almanack.  Race officials may delay, change or postpone the event due to weather conditions.  All registered runners will be notified via email of any changes.  In most cases, a decision is not made until the night before the race, and a decision could come as late as the morning of the event.

Directions to Parking

Start & Finish at the Deltaville Community Center, 17147 General Puller Hwy., Deltaville, VA 23043.

Parking will be in the open field behind the Deltaville Community Association building.  Access parking by turning down the street adjacent to the building.
