2024 PHC Color Run 5k

Points count towards our Year-Long 5k & Back of the Pack Series.  Points will also count towards Spring Series.  Find more info about the series here.

Up to 10 runners/walkers from Bishops Events who register before midnight on the first day registration opens (02/01) can use the coupon BishopsEarlyBird to receive a 10% discount on the registration fee.

During registration, participants can add t-shirts (+$12.75), decals (+$2.5), and post-race Chick-fil-a biscuits to runner/walker registration through RunSignUp until 3/31 (t-shirts are not automatically included in registration cost).

 

Runners Receive

Included in 5K run registration cost: bib, safety pins, official 5K time, catered Chick-fil-a breakfast biscuit, OJ/hot chocolate, fruit, raffle ticket, and event photos. White t-shirts with the PHCRC logo may be added during the registration process for an additional fee.

Charity Information

This race benefits Mosaic, a local crisis pregnancy center.  Anyone is welcome to individually donate or become a fundraiser to receive registration discounts (Donations: $100=$10 off and $250=$20 off; Fundraisers: $250 raised=$10 refunded from registration for 5K/1.5 mile walk).

T-Shirt Design

T-shirt design for the race is available here as soon as it has been approved.

 

Course Map

5k will complete two big laps (navy and red) around campus, with a small victory lap (yellow), and start/finish line (light blue). Those walking will complete just one lap + the small victory lap to finish and will not be wearing bibs.

 

Live Race Results

Live results will be posted on Athlinks.com.  Additionally, there will be a QR code at the race for you to scan to immediately view your results.  Final race results with series points will be posted to our website on the Monday following your race.

 

Awards

The top 3 M/F Patrick Henry College students running the 5K will receive medals, as well as the top M/F non-PHC student runners.

 

Photos

We will post any photos taken by staff on our Facebook page by Tuesday after the event.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is available at the event.  We recommend arriving one hour before your event start time to check-in.

 

Race Day Registration

There will be race day registration. Participants will need to arrive approximately one hour before the race to register for the event. T-shirts sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registers.

Water Stations

Two water stations will be provided at roughly 0.5miles and 2 miles in.

 

Restrooms

Bathrooms are available in the building directly adjacent to the start/finish line (the Barbara Hodel Center) – runners will pass them at about the 1.5 mile mark if needed.

 

Volunteers

Volunteers should arrive approximately 60 minutes before the first race kicks off.  We will assign volunteer tasks on race morning (water station, course marshals, finish line support, etc).  You can find parking information under “Directions to Parking” with a latitude and longitude pin for where to meet.

 

Weather Policy

We are an all-weather race company (rain or shine or sleet or snow). We will email registered runners and post on social media if the race is cancelled, but this is quite rare, otherwise assume the race is taking place as scheduled.

Weekly weather reports are posted on the Thursday before race weekends on our Facebook page by Chad Merrill with the Hagerstown Almanack.  Race officials may delay, change or postpone the event due to weather conditions.  All registered runners will be notified via email of any changes.  In most cases, a decision is not made until the night before the race, and a decision could come as late as the morning of the event.
