In the last few years, a new concept has hit the running industry; a way to make running in a race even more convenient. Runners now have the option to run a virtual race on their schedule. You no longer have to drive to an event to receive a medal or event shirt. Some race organizers give you a month to complete the race, while others only a day. Which means you sign-up for the virtual run, then you go out for a run at the distance you signed up for, anywhere (favorite park, neighborhood, etc.). You will then receive you medal and/or event shirt in the mail. Prices range from $10-35 for one of these virtual runs.
Bishop’s Events, LLC is offering virtual runs for all of our running events (sorry to our multisport athletes, we are not offering virtual options for these 4 events). You can sign up at $12 for any of our runs (regardless of distance) and receive an event medal (with your name, race date, and event name on it). If you decide you want an event shirt to go with your medal, sign-up at the $20 fee. We limit our virtual runs to two days. For example, our Frigid 5k/10k run is on December 14th, you can complete the virtual run option on December 13th or 14th.
If you email us or post on our facebook an image of your running app, watch, treadmill, etc. by Sunday night, we will include you in our results. Since you do not actually compete on the event course at the specific date and time, you are not eligible for any of the overall medals. By competing in any virtual run, you receive 1 point towards our year-long series standings (5k, 10k, or endurance standings depending on which event you run).
